A talented singer, composer, lyrcist and actor, Shekhar Sen hails from a Bengali family with roots in Raipur (Chhattisgarh). He learnt music from his musicologist parents, Dr. Arun Kumar Sen and Dr. Aneeta Sen, both renowned classical singers of Gwalior Gharana. The younger Sen established a distinct identity for Himself, however, by singing the medieval poets like Raskhan, Raheem, Lalit Kishori, Dhondhi Nayak and many more. Shekhar has done more than 1500 shows all over the world & released more than 190 cassettes & cds. He has composed the music for many TV serials & sung for the record breaking serial 'Ramayan'. Shekhar Sen's first musical mono act was 'Goswami Tulsidas' (1998) and his second, 'Kabeer'. 'Vivekanand', his third, represents yet another milestone for this gem of an artist dedicated to bringing the ageless and universal message of Hinduism to discerning people everywhere. Sen, was the first artist to perform his famous mono act musical play 'Kabeer' at 'Loksabha' on 4th may 2005. Shekhar was awarded Sangeet Natak Academi Puraskaar at Lucknow. He was member of film censor board for 4 years & also served as an expert for government bodies & human resources development ministry on many occasions.
